VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT FUMC LAGRANGE!
If you’re getting ready to visit for the first time, here are some helpful details.
GETTING HERE
Office Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. You can reach the office by phone at (708) 352-1250.
Our building is located in downtown LaGrange. Click here for address & map.
We do not have a parking lot, but parking is available on the street. Watch the signs, especially during weekday school hours!
ACCESSIBILITY
The building is accessible in two ways:
- to the Chapel at ground level on Cossitt Ave, where there is also a cut-out lane for dropping off and parking
- to the rest of the building on Madison Street, where there is parking as well as an elevator. The Sanctuary & Church office, located on the first floor, can be accessed via the elevator. Please note that during weekday school hours (8:30am-3:00pm), you may find the Madison street entrance locked. If so, please ring the buzzer on the left side of the entrance for access to the building.
An all-gender and wheelchair accessible restroom is located on the first floor of the building.
Wheelchair pew spaces are available in the Sanctuary. Large print hymnals and worship bulletins are available from ushers. A T-coil hearing assistance loop is provided in the Sanctuary.
WORSHIP
Sunday worship services are at 8:30am in the Chapel and 10:15am in the Sanctuary. We also offer a livestream of our 10:15am service at YouTube.com/fumclg .
We offer childcare for infants and toddlers during the 10:15 worship service. Sunday School is available for children and youth (preschool through 8th grade) during part of the 10:15 worship service during the school year. Children are invited to sit with their families at the start of the service and will be called forward for a children’s moment, after which they are dismissed to their Sunday school classes. There are Sunday School offerings for adults from 9:00-10:00am during the school year as well. All are invited for fellowship, coffee and nut-free cookies in the Gathering Space adjacent to the Sanctuary following 10:15 worship.
Our Sunday morning worship is fairly traditional, and you'll generally find attire a slight step up from casual, but we welcome you to come as you are.
The Sacrament of Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month, with bread and juice. Gluten-free bread is offered. All are welcome to partake of this sacrament; you do not need to "be United Methodist."
