Sr High Youth Ministry at FUMC LaGrange is with 9th-12th graders.
All youth, from any background, are welcome to attend our weekly Sr High 180 gatherings. We meet most Sundays through the school year, from 7:00-8:30pm, in the Sr High Youth Room (in the basement of the Church).
At Sr High 180, we hang out, pray together, ask tough questions, have fun, eat, and play games. We try to laugh as much as possible, but we value times when we need to be serious together, too. We explore what it looks like to be engaged in service and justice work in our community and the greater world. We'll discuss faith ideas together and learn about how God can be a compass to navigate all the crazy decisions in our lives. Above all, we prioritize building a safe community where we can each bring our full selves to be celebrated and supported.

RETREATS, SERVICE & OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR SR HIGH YOUTH
In addition to weekly youth group, there are several ways for senior high youth to explore their faith and help extend Christ's reach in the world around them. These include:
|
SLuG (STUDENT LEADERSHIP GROUP)
Our SLuG (also known as Student Leaders Under God), is comprised of sophomores, juniors & seniors who have applied to be a part of the team that plans our youth ministry year. SLuG members are asked to meet several times a year to plan and assess the direction of 180, participate in leadership-building activities, and serve in leadership roles in 180 programs and in the greater life of the church. SLuG applications open in April for the following school year. Students are expected to be active participants of Sr High 180 for a full year before being eligible to apply for SLuG. |
