The Music Department at FUMC LaGrange has a long and varied history. We strive to not only provide music for worship, but to develop musicianship and appreciation among the members of our music ensembles.
Opportunities for adults:Chancel Choir - Rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm in the Choir Room and is under the direction of Music Director Tim Semanik. This choir helps lead the 10:15 worship service throughout the school year and a few times during the summer. In addition, the choir performs major choral-orchestral works at Christmas time and in the spring. Past performances have included the Requiems of Fauré and Rutter, Vivaldi Gloria, Durante Magnificat, and Britten Ceremony of Carols as well as masterworks by modern composers such as Dan Forrest, Elaine Hagenberg and Taylor Scott Davis. Bell Choir - Rehearses Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30pm in the Sanctuary, under the direction of Music Director Tim Semanik. Plays once a month during the 10:15 worship service, as well as for special services during the year. Open to anyone interested in learning to ring.
TGiW Band - Rehearses Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00am in Fellowship Hall. Provides contemporary-style music periodically for Sunday morning worship, and is open to anyone high school aged or older who may wish to sing or play an instrument with the band. Unbroken Circle - A Folk Band made up of interested folk musicians from the FUMC LaGrange congregation. Provides music for the Wednesday evening worship service once a month. Contact Music Director Tim Semanik for more information.

Opportunities for children & youth:The Children's Choir is open to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Children are welcome at all levels of music experience and leave with new friends, a deeper interest in music, and improved confidence to share their musical gifts. We meet on Sunday mornings 9:30 am - 10:10 am in the Chapel. The Children's Choir participates in singing the anthem in worship once a month during the school year. In December, we put on a scripted Christmas Pageant. The majority of choir members sing for the entire school year and warmly welcome new singers who join mid year.
