Our Children & Youth Sunday School offerings comply with the global United Methodist Church in establishing Safe Sanctuary policies.
The 1996 General Conference of the United Methodist church adopted a resolution aimed at reducing the risk of sexual abuse in the church. The policies and procedures established in this resolution and re-affirmed every four years at General Conference are essential for the protection and safety of all the children and youth who walk through our doors, as well as all volunteers and employed workers. Our Sunday School teachers and youth group volunteers are trained in how to appropriately follow through on established procedures. More specific information on Safe Sanctuary policies is available in a brochure in the church office or upon request with Hattie, Jen or Peggy.

Children's Sunday School
(ages 2 through 4th grade) Early in the 10:15 worship service, there is a Children's Moment (a message designed especially for the children). Following this, children are dismissed to go to their Sunday School classrooms. On the first Sunday of each month, we gather in the Chapel at 10:15 for a short children's service before heading to classrooms. |
Youth Sunday School
(5th-8th grade) Early in the 10:15 worship service, there is a Children's Moment. Youth are asked to sit in worship through this point, after which they head to their Sunday School classrooms. On the first Sunday of each month, there is no Sunday School for this age. Youth are encouraged to attend worship with their families, or sit in the balcony together. |
