Methodist Preschool opened its doors in 1962. Since its opening, Methodist has become a leader in the community for early childhood education. Located in the heart of La Grange, our preschool utilizes the resources our community offers. Methodist Preschool embodies the values and family commitment of our community. Our curriculum has masterfully blended the benefits of our play based preschool with the Illinois Early Learning Standards for Development. Methodist cares about each and every student who enters our building.

We are able to meet your child where they are when they come into our program and will bring them further along in their academic journey.  Our teachers build confidence, independence, critical thinking, creativity and self expression.  Our curriculum incorporates literacy, mathematics, science and social studies in a hands-on, active manner. Children are engaged in their learning while they interact with their peers and make choices about their day.  Supplemented by music, our students are singing and dancing regularly.

Our outdoor classroom, incorporates nature in our curriculum.  Our activity room gives students the opportunity to develop gross motor skills and engage in cooperative games.  Methodist Preschool educates the whole child meeting their needs physically, emotionally and educationally.
 
Our school has evolved to meet the needs of the community by offering extended day programs and enrichment classes.  In addition to our traditional preschool program, we offer early morning bridge, after school extended day, and lunch bunch.  Our enrichment program includes specialized classes in STEM, Art and Games, Music and Movement, and Literacy and Handwriting.  We continually assess the needs and wants of our families and adjust our program as needed.
 
Licensed by the State of Illinois, Methodist preschool has lower teacher to student ratios than that which is set by DCFS.  We work closely with the local school districts to ensure we are meeting the benchmark skills for kindergarten. All of our classrooms exceed the standards of safety for early childhood buildings.
