Philosophy
Methodist Preschool believes that a child’s learning patterns and character development begin in early childhood. Taking advantage of the child’s sensitive periods, our curriculum unfolds from the age of pre-threes to five years old.
Our program is designed to foster development of the child’s total growth.
Program Information
Methodist Preschool was opened in 1962 as an outreach program for the church. The school is inter-denominational and community-wide. The preschool provides the children and parents of La Grange and nearby communities a safe and loving environment for their first formal learning experience.
The preschool is housed in the educational wing of the church. Spacious, light and attractive, the rooms are fully furnished and equipped to satisfy children's needs and to stimulate learning. The building has passed the rigid safety inspection of the State Fire Marshall and the La Grange Fire Department. The school is licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services. The preschool is covered by general liability insurance.
Methodist Preschool is non-profit and is administered by an Early Education Board consisting of the Preschool Director, Church Administrator, Parent Representatives, Church Representatives and Parents Day Out Director.
