Outreach Ministries
United Methodists are called to provide outreach ministries on the local, state, regional, national and international levels. Our Book of Discipline defines outreach as giving attention to the local and larger community ministries of compassion, justice and advocacy.

Appalachia Service Project
|
Sr High 180 Service Trip - Each year the high school youth group of our congregation travels to the Central Appalachian Region for a week to serve with the Appalachia Service Project, a Christian home repair ministry. |
| B.E.D.S. |
Building Ecumenical Discipleship through Sheltering (BEDS) assists the homeless of West Suburban Cook County by providing overnight shelter, meals, and access to community resources. BEDS unites faith communities and caring individuals in a spirit of compassion, hospitality and dignity. FUMC is the Thursday evening BEDS location. | Boy Scout Troop 14 |
Troop 14 is a very active scout troop for boys ages 11 to 18. Our scouts go on outings every month and high adventures every summer. We meet every Tuesday evening at the First UMC of La Grange at 7:00 PM. For more information please see our troop web site at http://troop14.info/ |
| CROP Hunger Walk |

| Cub Scout Pack 14 |
Pack 14 is a very active cub scout pack for boys ages 6 to 10. These younger boys go on outings with there parents and have summer camp experiences as well. | Habitat for Humanity |
Habitat for Humanity International strives to eliminate substandard housing and homelessness worldwide. We're hoping to provide some volunteer dates with the DuPage Habitat for Humanity soon. |
| Haiti Relief |

| 30 Hour Famine |
Jr & Sr High Youth (7th-12th grade) fast for 30 hours as part of World Vision's 30 Hour Famine to raise $ for starving children across the globe. |
| Katrina Relief |
Each January, adults from our congregation accompany a group from the Glen Ellyn, IL UMC to volunteer with Hurricane Katrina Relief organizations. |
