Confirmation

The Confirmation Program is open to 8^th grade students, and requires a September-April (school-year) commitment. Led by Pastor Addison Shields, Minister of Education Allyson Talbert, and Director of Youth Ministries Hattie Stahl, the program is designed to help students:

• Understand the framework of the Christian year
• Become familiar with the United Methodist doctrine
• Incorporate the rich heritage of our Wesleyan roots
• Develop loving and lasting relationships within a community faith by including youth and adults in the confirmation experience.

Attendance at weekly Wednesday night class sessions as well as at Sunday School and Junior High Youth Ministry Offerings is requirement of the program. Other events in which students will participate include the annual Crop Walk, 30-Hour Famine, Parent/Confirmand Retreat, Interview of a Church Council Leader, Attendance at a Church Leadership Council Meeting, as well as other service events/opportunities.
